A Young And Docile Heart For God
We want to share the story of Florencia Alarcón, from the church in Viña del Mar, Chile – South America. She is a special girl who, at the age of sixteen, realized that she needed God while her mother was studying the Bible. Florencia also started studying the Bible while she was still in high school for approximately two months, and every time she studied the Bible, she was impacted by every scripture she read. Florencia was baptized a few months after her mother.
Since then, two years have passed and she is about to enter the university, to study medicine (God willing). She has been a faithful and persevering young woman, who invited her school friends to learn about God, and that seed that she sowed, sprouted in Pablo, who was soon baptized and is now a faithful disciple as well.
Florencia loves to learn more about God and His Word. She is a great servant in the kingdom, in fact she is doing a leadership workshop to prepare herself to serve better.
Florencia is a notable example of how young people can also have hearts that are obedient to God and a great desire to grow. Here is the letter she wrote to God after completing two years as a disciple.
"For two years, I made the greatest, most meaningful, and important decision of my life—one that saved my life forever and carried greater weight and value than any other decision I could have made. Thank you so much, God, for accepting me as your daughter, for completing the gaps in my life, for mending my heart and bringing me back to life, for fixing something you did not break, for your kindness and love, and for allowing me to live on in the lovely world you made. I would like to live each day holding your hand; it has been two years, but it will be a lifetime by your side. I love you with all my heart. Without you, I would be nothing. Every struggle and battle has been worthwhile because you have been molding me, once again I ask you to continue doing your work in me, to continue molding me to be as you want me to be, to live in your will and not in mine, once again thank you for everything I have lived, because I have learned and grown, I have been becoming someone I never thought I would be and I like to live day by day holding your hand, until today it has been two years but it will be a lifetime by your side...."
