GREAT NEWS!
The Spirit of good news
“A friendly smile makes you happy, and good news makes you feel strong.”
Proverbs 15:30 CEV
In a world full of pain, at a time when fear and worry can invade our soul and heart, there is nothing better than receiving good news. If you find yourself today in the midst of doubt, sadness, helplessness, discouragement, pain, GOD HAS GREAT NEWS FOR YOU and for each one of us.
“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.”
Luke 2:8-9 NIV
Just like these shepherds, we find ourselves in our daily life giving everything and trying to be good in our Christian life, but also, we live routinely lives that take us to settle out life and our faith. God always sends us wonderful messages in amazing ways that move us from where we are standing and direct us to Him. I believe that this scripture can lead us to remember the exact moment when we received the good news. Do you remember? Was it something terrifying but also hopeful and joyful?
It is so incredible to think that the glory of God has surrounded us and hugged us so our lives could be transformed until this day.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Luke 2: 10-11 NIV
This season is an opportunity to remember that there is nothing we need to fear or anything that can defeat us because our Savior and Lord came to this world to give our lives value and purpose.
The good news today continue to be that Christ was born to give us life, to heal our wounds, to walk by our side, so that we have the security that we are not alone, to transform ourselves, to lead a life that honors him, to share with others that message of love and to dream of one day living eternally by His side.
This good news that came into my life over 26 years ago, filled me with an immense gratitude and an indescribable joy when I met a God who would become the Father that I never had, that father that I long for by my side during my childhood and that made my heart not complete.
For me, this good news brought peace to my heart, forgiveness, hope, healing, wholeness, joy, faith, and a purpose that has completely changed the course of my steps. I am sure that, like me, you can feel what the coming of the Savior has done in your life.
Because when our Lord Jesus comes to our life, he changes them, transforms them and fills them with immense joy!
The arrival of Jesus into our lives should also be a reason for praise and adoration towards Him. Today is a good day to take some time to exalt his name for loving us in such a way, that He came to this world, in the condition of man, to bring us the best good news we could get: THE GOOD NEWS OF SALVATION! Let us adore him for his mercy, for his grace, for his forgiveness, for his compassion and love. Let us give him all the glory for all that he has done and continues to do in our lives, in the lives of our brothers and of many. TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!
But he said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.”
Luke 4:43 NIV
Like Christ, we must be very clear that we have a purpose in life and nothing can stop us, not our sin or our humanity. You and I were called by Christ to generously share all that we have received from Him. This time is a great opportunity to imitate our teacher and seek to have that longing for others to know him and know, just like you and me, that there is a Savior who brings great news for each of us.
Every day we can reflect and be grateful that the good news of God can continue to guide and teach us through his Word and that it can always bear engraved in our hearts that Christ was born to bring this message, but He also died and rose again to see that message made a reality in our lives. How wonderful to know that your life and mine are part of such an incredible plan.
May God bless your life, strengthen your faith and make you an instrument of salvation for the lives of others!I send you a big hug and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a 2022 full of great miracles!
QUESTIONS TO THINK ABOUT:
1. Take a moment and reflect on How did it impact your life and what changes have you seen with the arrival of the good news from the Savior? Is it still causing the same impact?
2. What could be stopping your heart from sharing the good news with others?
3. Take time to express to God your feelings of gratitude, praise, and adoration for his arrival, death, and resurrection.
