The Lighthouse Region of the LA Church of Christ is excited to share that Angelica Quesada is going to Manchester, England on June 22nd for a 1-year challenge. Angelica became a disciple as a teen in Lighthouse and has been a great joy in the fellowship. She graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a BS in Public Health while also serving as an intern and later as a teen leader. She has been an amazing mentor and friend to many. She currently leads our young professional women in our impact singles ministry and has recently helped 2 young women decide to follow Jesus.
Her parents are Albert and Brenda Quesada, disciples with big hearts who have built a wonderful family with God’s word as their foundation. Angelica is the oldest of 4 siblings—2 of whom were adopted through Hope Worldwide. One of her sisters, Sarita, is from India, and her other sister, Tiara, is from China. She also has a biological brother, Carson. All 4 of these young adults are devoted disciples. Despite the many unique challenges of this blended family, they shine brightly as they display great unity and hold out the word of life to many.
It has been a great privilege for me to mentor Angelica because of her eagerness to learn and give in our relationship. We have had an “iron sharpens iron” (Proverbs 27:17) friendship. She has many noble qualities, but I personally admire her joy, forgiving heart, and inspiring relationship with God. Her devotion to the fellowship has been unwavering even during a pandemic! She has persevered through many challenges and sacrificed on numerous occasions to continually serve with enthusiasm. Her zeal has spurred many to action.
We will miss Angelica so much, but we rejoice with her as she courageously steps out on faith to show compassion and advance the cause of Christ. May God bless her abundantly and all who answer the call to serve.
