He Would Still Choose You
I wrote this as a reminder to myself for whenever I am ashamed of the sins I have fallen into, especially related to purity. It is a huge struggle for me. A battle. I would be very grateful if we all could pray for each other; to keep our hearts pure, to live a life that would please God and build others.
Here is a small reminder for today:
Times when you and I don’t have the strength to go to God, when we are covered in sin and shame, remember He would still choose us. While we were still sinners He sent His son to die for us (Romans 5:8).
You might have committed the most abhorred sin—something shameful, something you wish you never fell into, something that has made you feel worthless after you did it—but remember He would still choose you.
He would choose us not because we deserve it, but because His love for us is so deep that He wouldn't want us to drift away from Him. He would choose us despite the fact that we deliberately do things that hurt Him. He would choose us when we cannot even accept ourselves. When you choose something temporary, just for some mere momentary pleasure and replace Him, He would still choose you. He would choose you when you cannot choose yourself. Remember that.
He would accept you when your father or mother rejects you (Isaiah 49:15-16). He would be your stronghold when your friend betrays you. He will comfort you when every situation might be against you (Psalm 43:5). He will hold your right hand and guide you when you feel helpless (Isaiah 41:13). When you feel insignificant and unimportant, He will guard you as the apple of His eye, your walls will ever be before Him (Isaiah 49:16). When no one else seems to care for you, when you have no where else to go, He will stand with His arms wide open for you to run into (Psalm 73:25-26).
Like the prodigal son, you might have wandered away. You might have left your Father’s beautiful house that took care of all your needs, where you were treated like a princess. But when you decide to come back, He will be there waiting at the gates for you and celebrating over your return (Luke 15:11-24).
Don’t let sin separate you from Him. Nothing has the power to separate you from His great and relentless love.
He would still choose you.
"But now, this is what the LORD says-- he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine." – Isaiah 43:1
"Do not be afraid, you worm Jacob, little Israel, do not fear, for I myself will help you,” declares the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel." — Isaiah 41:14
"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." — Romans 8:38-39
