Transitions with God
From the women of the Central Jersey Church of Christ
As women, we are constantly evolving physically, mentally and emotionally as we transition from one season of life to another. These changes can come with various challenges. But we serve a God who never changes and whose character remains consistent through every season and transition in life. Let’s hear from some of our sisters what walking with God through new seasons has looked like for them. This video from the Central Jersey church features Theresa Clark, a “proud-to-be-fifty”-year-old, transitioning to becoming an older woman; and Liz Sevigny, transitioning from life as a single to living as a newlywed.
About Theresa Clark
Professionally, Theresa is the administrator for the Central Jersey Church of Christ. She has been a disciple of Jesus for 33 years, baptized as a teenager in the New York City Church of Christ. She has a gift of connecting emotionally and relationally with all generations. The two Scriptures 1 Corinthians 12: 22-26 (NLT) and Romans 12: 9 (NLT) are the ones that most influence her leadership by coupling sincere love and restoring dignity in each interaction. Using these as a foundation, she has impacted many through recovery ministries. She has been happily married without children for 17 years to her prom date, Aaron Clark. She is a diverse artist who loves acting, writing, drawing, and is currently learning Spanish on the Duolingo app. Most mornings you will find her out in nature with coffee in hand while bird watching and shamelessly singing her favorite worship songs.
About Liz Sevigny
Liz Sevigny works full time for the Central Jersey Church of Christ Teen Ministry, and part time as an Early Intervention Child Therapist. She has been a disciple for 9 years, baptized February 26, 2014, when she was just 13 years old. Worship is the number one way she connects with God. Her dream and prayer is that God will continue to help her write songs for Him and for God to help her seize opportunities to share those songs with others. She desires to remain open to worshiping Him with her voice wherever and whenever He calls her to do so. She’d love for you to pray that she may continue to learn how to surrender her expectations for this life to God and to find fulfillment and joy in whatever path He chooses to take her!
