A Christ Like Example
This article is about a group of Titus 2 women who, in spite of many challenges, organized the Columbia Church of Christ Daytime Bible Talk (CCCDTBT) in 2018. These wise and faithful women, along with myself, set an example of doing good for the sake of the Gospel through devotion, teaching, and service to God and His Mission.
The goal of the CCCDTBT was to create a daytime gospel experience for our mature sisters, to help engage them in bible studies, and provide opportunities to serve and give back to the community. We had a desire to grow in faith and to be of service to others. However, due to physical challenges and other health impairments, we struggled with attending church evening bible talks and other evening events.
Finding Grace in the Challenges
Instead of allowing our challenges to be a discouragement, we made them a joy! After much prayer and collaboration with our church leadership team, and hours of planning and seeking advice, we now have a thriving daytime group that meets once a week. We have been fruitful and very involved in serving our community. For Christmas, we had a blast volunteering at the Heartland of Columbia Rehabilitation Center and Millennium Nursing Home! We engaged the patients and staff in singing Christmas carols, playing games, and making Christmas ornaments. We were also blessed with opportunities of volunteering at the Harvest Hope Food Bank and taking daytime road trips!
Blessed Beyond Imagination
God answered our prayers!! Recently, we became coed and currently have 6-8 brothers who consistently attend our group. One brother even helps co-lead the group! We are so encouraged by how God is using this group to help us to grow in faith and to meet the needs of others! Our theme scripture is Ephesians 4:12-13, in which we are truly experiencing the whole measure and fullness of Christ! Praise God!
