She's Not Your Enemy Book Review
Review by Heidi Ammons
She’s Not Your Enemy, by Jenn Schultz, was different from what I normally read. It felt like I was having a heartfelt conversation with a friend! She sets the tone by speaking to you directly about the seriousness of Our Enemy and how Our Enemy wants to wreak havoc in our lives by making us skeptical of God and one another. She addresses many of the relatable connection destroyers such as comparisons, rejections, insecurities, doubts, and condemnations. She then walks us through how to avoid these pitfalls from our past and present hurts by turning to an accurate view of God and ourselves.
In this book, she provides what feels like a well-equipped toolbox of guided videos, thought provoking questions, personal reflections, and exercises. All the while, she uses plenty of Scriptures to ground this book in the Word of God, which guides the reader to feel invigorated rather than defeated. I felt like Jenn took me by the hand and walked with me through this process along with her personal experiences and insights. She’s Not Your Enemy will help ground us back to the truth of God’s desires and promises, His desire for connection with us and our connection with other women. When this happens, we can fully embrace building God’s Kingdom together!
Heidi Ammons has been a disciple for 32 years. In that time she has served in the full time ministry for 29 years. Valerie Thomas - I agree! Jenn addresses the insecurities Satan plants in our hearts because of other’s successes, our pasts, our view of ourselves. And she helps us see that God doesn’t see us like that, we can be each other’s allies and cheer squad.
