The accompanying video is a ten-minute commentary on Luke 13:10-17, the story of Jesus healing a disabled woman in the synagogue. Beautifully described by Toli Beruah, women's ministry leader in the New Delhi church of Christ, India, the story of Jesus noticing and caring for our sister in ancient times reminds us of the tremendous value each of us has in God's eyes today. Noticing us, calling us forward, personally touching us when we are bent over with our own burdens, Jesus's hands heal, returning to each of us the ability to live life to the full. (John 10:10) However, there is that difficult journey of faith that must be made, from the back of the synagogue to the front, all eyes watching, to see what Jesus will do. This video is perfect for when you want to have a meaningful personal time with God and need a little jump start. As she concludes, Toli demonstrates a personal psalm of praise, inspired by Jeremiah 10:6. Toli's original audience for this devotional was the sixteen or so women on five different continents who serve on the ICOC Women's Service Team. We're grateful that she took the time to make this recording available for the rest of us -- a gift that we can so easily share now with our friends and family who may also be lifted by a few moments of reflection on these scriptures.
